Why do astronauts experience weightlessness?
Let W be the weight of the astronaut, and R be the reaction or contact force with anything say Chair, Belt etc...
And let the Space vehicle move with acceleration 'g'.
Then,
We have W+R=(W/g)*g
which gives R=0 ie the net contact force on the astronaut is zero.
With no reaction to the force of gravity exerted onn the body, there is indeed no sensation of weight.

My Bible and I
We've travelled together,
My Bible and I,
Through all kinds of weather,
With smile or with sigh!
In sorrow or sunshine,
In tempest or calm!
Thy friendship unchanging,
My lamp and my psalm.
We've travelled together,
My Bible and I,
When life has grown weary,
And death e'en was nigh!
But all through the darkness
Of mist or of wrong,
I found there a solace,
A prayer and a song.
So now who shall part us,
My Bible and I?
Shall "isms" or "schisms"
Or "new lights" who try?
Shall shadow for substance,
Or stone for good bread,
Supplant thy sound wisdom,
Give folly instead?
Ah, no, my dear Bible,
Exponent of light!
Thou sword of the spirit,
Put error to flight!
And still through life's journey,
Until my last sigh,
We'll travel together,
My Bible and I.

My favourite quotations
1. "If Jesus had never lived, we would not have been able to invent Him." Walter Wink
2. Suppose we hear an unknown man spoken of by many men. Suppose we were puzzled to hear that some men said he was too tall and some too short; some objected to his fatness, some lamented his leanness; some thought him too dark, and some too fair. One explanation . . . would be that he might be an odd shape. But there is another explanation. He might be the right shape. . . . Perhaps (in short) this extraordinary thing is really the ordinary thing; at least the normal thing, the centre.
G. K. Chesterton
3. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply.
Hudson Taylor
4. THE SKY
Sometimes gentle, sometimes capricious, sometimes awful, never the same for two moments together; almost human in its passions, almost spiritual in its tenderness, almost divine in its infinity.
John Ruskin
5. Love consents to all and commands only those who consent. Love is abdication. God is abdication.
Simone Weil
6. "Omnipotence which can lay its hand so heavily upon the world can also make its touch so light that the creature receives independence."
Soren Kierkegaard
7. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Martin Luther King Jr(1929-1968)

concealed beauties of a writer, and communicate to the world such things as are worth their
observation.

When you reach September.

Mission Picnic
This is about a group of students(all of them classmates) planning to have a big big picnic party after they finish their 10th exam.
It was the group ragging sessions usually held in the name of classes that binds them together like a magnet binds with iron. Actually the idea of having such a group dream is indeed the outcome of the torture that they face in their school from the seniors. The strategy of the plan is to buy puppies and let some of the non teaching staffs domesticate them till the time for picnic.
As a group of youngsters, likeminded and unite in their friendship, they dare to take all the risks involved in that mission. As they were studying in a residential school, going out from school is not an easy thing, they should take the pain of taking at least three signatures from the school authority to get an outpass(They call it). And if any student is found going out without permission, the school authority can take disciplinary action even to suspension from school, so it's not a fair and easy task to bring puppies from outside into the school premises, I would say indeed it's a breathtaking task that they are planning to accomplish.
There is one way to do the job, if they can somehow escape from the campus without the knowledge of the school authority. There is a great risk associated with this task because there are roll calls at least four times a day or sometimes five times including surprise roll call. The probability of being notice by the school authority will be lesser if one or two of them escapes, but these dumb fellows will do things in a group like a herd of Sheep, they won't care is it legal or not, for them their school of thought is "what they want is what they should get......" and everything they do is for "Roach Cabin" a name they coined for the class. The word Roach is derived from Cockroach which have a peculiar meaning for them, it means something/someone extraordinary in an awkward sense..
After various frustrating attempts to escape from school for the mission, one fine night they all went to one of their friend's village which is about 2 km from the school. When they reach the friend's house, they talk to their parents who agreed to keep one of their puppies with them. The friend's father have a prayer for them just before they return, that's quite funny because they were there breaching their school rules.
The hunt for puppies doesn't end here, indeed it's just the start because they need some three puppies for the mission. So, for the next puppy they went a bit far away from their school to a village called Teisiang. This time they went during the day one sunday, going to each house in the village asking them if they want to sell puppies. At last they got all the puppies they want and they were back to campus again.
The first step for the mission is kind of success. The second step is, they should find someone preferably the non teaching staffs inside the campus to domesticate those puppies for them. One puppy is with one of their friend's house since their parents agreed to domesticate for them. The remaining two puppies are taken care of by a guy working as a cook in the mess.
Now, it is time for them to wait for two more years for their planned picnic to come. Days and months passes by and everyone is waiting eagerly for that time. But things come the other way round and all their top secrets come to light just because of one small incident.
Every morning there was a morning PT where they used to run followed by some spot exercises. Sometimes their PT teacher took them outside campus to town for jogging. And it was one fine day when they went to town and on the way back to school one of their friend who was one among the most influential guy in the circle of friends saw a dog(puppy) and he feels that it is the puppy that they bought because to him it looks so similar. So he took the puppy and walked to school, just before the class hour starts, the owner of the puppy came to school and compalined to the teacher that one student carried away his puppy. So, the teacher shouted calling his name saying the owner of the puppy is here, please come and return. It's an embarrassing moment for him in front of all the students, anyway he doesn't have any option but to go there and return the puppy to the guy.
The news about that incident came to be known by the Principal and he started enquiring why he took that puppy. Soon all their plans of having a picnic along with all the minute details of the things happening behind the scenes came to be known by the school authority. The Principal became very angry and the school authority took the case very serious and even threaten those non teaching staffs who were keeping the puppies for them to fire from their job. It's really a hard time for these barbaric, innocent, brave (whatever u call it) guys as they were given severe punishment and an undertaking that they will not repeat such things in the future.
But inspite of all these, their relationship grow stronger every second and their blood still run hot inside each one of them. As the clock continue to go with the same pace, a time came for them to write their tenth board exams but in the midst of such difficult situation they still hope to meet again for a grand picnic after the exams....and indeed they do met.
**I have one confession to make "I was one among them.......:-)"
